Alexander Graharm Bell was given the first patent for the telephone.Sound waves were carried as mechanical vibraions with string or wire from one diaphragm to a other.For exsample the childrens toy the tin can telephone.The idea of this toy was that diaphragm can collect vioce sounds from the, the ear and can also transmit vioce sounds through a string or wire for reproductionat a distance.But it wasn't just Alexander who invented the telephone on his own therethere was work from other people too.Like Innocenzo Manzetti,CharlesBourseul,John Philipp Reis,Antonio Meucci and Elisha Gray.
